Site analytics
This site uses Umami, an analytics service that does not use cookies, to understand how the site is visited and which email links are opened. When a page loads, Umami records:
- The page visited and the page of origin.
- The tags in the link followed, if any (
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign,utm_content). - Browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language.
- Approximate location (country, region and city), derived from the IP address.
Umami does not store the IP address or write anything to the browser. To count a visit once, it creates a temporary identifier from the IP address and browser details, combined with a random value that changes regularly, so it cannot be used to follow a person over time.
Email links
Links in emails that Berco Studio sends to its clients include a short code in the URL (for example utm_content) that identifies the recipient client. When the link is opened, Berco Studio can see that this client visited the site and which page they viewed. This information is used only to learn which messages are useful and to follow up on work with existing clients. It is not combined with advertising data or shared with third parties.
Third-party content
Some pages embed videos from Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc.) with the “do not track” option enabled, so Vimeo’s tracking cookies are not set. When a video loads, the IP address is sent to Vimeo and to its security provider Cloudflare, which may set technical cookies (__cf_bm, __cf_ob, cf_clearance) used only to protect against bots and abuse. Fonts are served from this site itself.
Purpose and legal basis
The purpose is to understand how the site and the emails perform, and to improve them. The basis is legitimate interest, under Ecuador’s Organic Law on Personal Data Protection and, for visitors from the European Union, Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Because no cookies or other data are stored on the device for analytics, a cookie banner is not required.
Processors
- Umami Software, Inc. (Umami Cloud) processes analytics data on behalf of Berco Studio, on servers located in the United States and the European Union. Its list of subprocessors is available at umami.is/subprocessors.
- Netlify hosts the site and may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and operation.
Retention
Analytics data is kept for up to 6 months, after which Umami deletes it.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data, or object to its processing, by writing to info@bercostudio.com. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may file a complaint with Ecuador’s Superintendencia de Protección de Datos Personales or with the data protection authority in your country.
You may also prevent measurement by using a browser or extension that blocks analytics.
Changes
If the way the site measures visits changes, this page and its date will be updated.
